Dear Flooring Professional:
According to the most recent WFCA survey
titled "Financial Report 2007", the
median "Net Profit before Taxes" for the
"Retail/Residential" category flooring
business is 2.83% (see page 8 of the
report). How does your business compare
to this number? Do you have the tools
in place to properly monitor your
financial performance? There is very
little room for mistakes. You can't
afford waste, you can't lose margin to
errors; you need positive, real-time
control of your job cost, receivables,
inventory and payroll expense and that
is why you need RollMaster Software.
If you use Windows as a
Server, if you run the SQL Database
or any proprietary database, if you
use terminal services, or any
combination of these products, your
total cost of ownership (TCO) may
be out of your control and
wasteful. Your biggest hidden cost
is your LAN and WAN technical
expense. Investigate your hardware
support, software support and
software licensing costs; when the
shock wears off call me at
800-777-4107 X2032 and let me show
you how you can dramatically reduce
overhead while improving operational
controls and improving gross
profit. You may be shocked.
Updating your individual windows
workstations to remain
compatible with your server
operating system, data base and
communication software is an
unnecessary expense that you
can't afford. for example, how
do you like updating all of your
PC's to Vista to accommodate the
latest version of SQL server?
Groovy, isn't it
Updating your individual
workstation to keep your
business management software
current is impractical,
expensive, very inefficient and
will never happen universally.
Selecting a business management software
package is difficult. You must consider
the impact a system has on your current
business process flow, your accounting
system, your employees and your
salesmen. Everyone resists change and
your job will be complicated managing
the combined structural and emotional
issues.
Your decision is further complicated by
the fact that you feel inadequate when
it comes to evaluating flooring software
features. Once you select the software,
you have to deal with the new hardware,
installation, licensing, support and
maintenance cost and on going issues.
The hardware dealer will view you the
same way that a lion sees a lamb.
Our product is RollMaster, installed on
your server and we put your system "hot
on the net" for efficient remote access
and real-time data management. We use
generic, non-proprietary hardware that
we install and support.
Suggestions:
1). Make your server RMLinux and save
money now.
2). Don't license operating system
software, communication software
or database management software;
use public domain software.
3). Avoid complex networks and
communication software; use the Internet
to connect your business operations.
4). Don't buy integrated software that
must be installed on every desktop PC -
it's too expensive to update and
support.
5). Invest in adequate training.
6). Commit yourself to the
implementation plan.
7). Consider Flooring Industry B2B as a
necessity.
8). If it sounds complex or you don't
understand it, don't do it!
